About the Voice
Lessons
Good
vocal technique (the way you use your
voice) allows free and clear singing throughout your range, with all your
words clearly understood, and WITHOUT ANY VOCAL BREAKS or tension. It can
be applied to every style of music, with out strain or tension in the
throat, mouth, jaw, neck, or shoulders.
All too often, singers have vocal damage or chronic vocal fatigue allowed
by poor voice teaching. Many of these students have come to our voice
teacher (Eric Bruner) from other singing teachers with vocal polyps,
nodules and pre-nodules, pre-hemorrhage and even partial vocal paralysis
conditions. Eric regularly works with several of the country's top
laryngologists and vocal surgeons to help relieve the effects of the
chronic vocal problems of these students by singing (and speaking) with
better vocal technique.
By using simple, practical vocal exercises, Eric helps both professional
and non-professional singers of all ages break through vocal barriers like
a lack of range, or a lack of power or control. He then helps them apply
their new vocal ability to the musical style(s) they love to sing.
Whether you are singing high or low, soft or loud, you should sing with
the same relaxed voice used when speaking at a comfortable level,
experiencing absolute vocal freedom throughout your range, with an even
sound and feel. Good singing should be (and can be) that easy!
